My Pedro...

Pedro is the horse that I had to recently euthanize. He was having some hip problems. We had his sacroiliac joint injected which should have provided pain relief and healing for 6 months to a year atleast. It lasted 5 days. It's also very costly. We tried some pain meds for some time and upping the dosage, but it didn't help much. Unfortunately all the strain he was putting on his good hoof from leaning on it, caused it to flare out and became shaped like a 'C'. Hooves aren't supposed to look like that. It unfortunately cracked under the pressure and a large 3" long by 1" tall piece was gone from the outer edge. He no longer had support there and at that point we decided to euthanize him.



Charmer was a bit lost for a while, but has buddied up some with Napoleon. They both get along well.
