Headed off to Gatlinburg for a few nights on our way to D.C.. Really enjoying our time here. The area is so beautiful; it reminds me of the area where I grew up.
We have done some shopping and rode the sky lift. I don't mind riding it; such beautiful scenery to see as you ride. The other three in my family weren't as excited about it, but did agree that it was pretty. Steve liked going down better than up.
We went for a little drive and did a little hiking. There are little streams and a river that winds its way around the mountains; we enjoyed stopping to climb amongst the rocks and get our feet wet. At one point, Jacob slipped and fell in. Gotta be careful for sure. It didn't deter him though!
The weather has been absolutely beautiful here. Woke up to high 50's and it barely got out of the high 70's yesterday. In the woods it stayed a lovely 64.
We found a few old settlements and an old mill that had a cute little shop in it. Bought some boiled peanuts and a fried peach pie. I'm the only one it seems, that likes boiled peanuts...such a shame :) .
