I love our local Thrift shop...

I like clothes...but I hate paying the retail price at the big stores...I wouldn't be able to afford much to wear if I did. I always hit the cleareance racks wherever I go. Never fails I can find atleast one thing I could use for any one of us. The kids needed some clothes. They have both grown especially Tall Girl. Those jeans in a size 10 that I bought last year thinking that they would last her quite a while because they were so long....I was wrong this time...they are almost too short and probably will be in a month or so if she keeps growing like she is. They needed new sweatpants too. I had been trying to get them at Wally World, but they didn't have them stocked yet...it was rediculous. They had Christmas stuff out before Halloween, yet they didn't have sweatpants out for the kids and it's been chilly here! I found them yesterday though and bought up some for both kids, as well as some night clothes.

We headed off to town to the big thrift store and hit jackpot there. 4 pairs of really nice jeans for me (ones that would have been 40 dollars each at the store), 3 pairs for Tall Girl, 1 for Little Man, some shirts, a skirt, 6 books, and a cool motorized tank toy. All for $45. Not bad at all. I've always been able to find some nice things there. It's hit or miss sometimes with places like that, but I've only left empty handed once and we've been going there for the last few years.

It's hard these days to clothe your kids inexpensively, especially when they are growing like weeds!

Heaven help me today...

I am taking the kids out to Kohl's and Target to do some shopping for some new clothes. I normally head to the thrift shop, but they have play clothes so far and need some nice jeans. I bought some on clearance late last year and early this year. I tried to make sure they were a little 'too' big and long. Normally that helps make them last a little longer...not this year. They were quite big on B last year and now they look like she's wearing her little brother's pants! Too tight and too short! Some of J's are just barely long enough, but he needs a few new pair and some new church pants and shoes...

I've decided to forego the school work today for my own sanity so we can leave early and I can get back home to cook a decent dinner (we are babysitting tomorrow and have plenty of time to do a double work load then).
