Ugh....More rain!

I was so glad this week. We'd had no rain for more than 5 days....a big too-daa here, and the mud was finally just dirt again...I was all set to go get my calf yesterday only to find out they were out of town. I was going to head out this evening to get him, but then came the rain. Now I can't get into the yard with the trailer. Of course if I could just learn to back the thing into the driveway and down the drive, it wouldn't be so bad, but well...I can be a bit goofy and I'm sure I'd end up with a not very pleasant bill from the wrecker company after having them tow me out of the deep ditch on either side of my driveway. Steve would be just thrilled with that especially since it'd be his truck in the mess! I'm quite sure that I don't need to start practicing now.

So I'll wait a few more days and see if it starts to dry up again.

On another note. B helped me clean up the carport and take all the horse stuff and feed cans out to the horse shed. I'm going to use it for storage now since we have the other shelter to feed under. Steve will be so glad to get all the stuff off the carport and we won't have to haul feed twice a day to the back and get attacked by the goats on the way in...those goats will knock you over for a smiggen of feed...bunch of pigs they are. Now we'll be able to make the buckers out there and feed everyone without getting mauled all the way to the troughs, LOL!

Got a pic of Hunter and the kids outside the other day. They were having a blast on the trampoline and Hunter thought he must have been missing something and popped right up there with them. Goofy dog!

Of course here's the videos of the three of them:

Help! We're melting!

It sure feels like it. It has ranged in the upper 102's here with the humidity just laying like a thick winter quilt on you. Late July and all of August are the most miserable months here in Louisiana. We hardly go outside from 10 am to 4pm! A walk to the mailbox brings on sweat where sweat is quite unwelcome! EWWWWW....

The pool is still down and we hope to have it up this weekend. The neighbors want to get dirt for their barn this week (unless Hurricane Dean dumps too much water in the next few days) and we're going to split the cost of the Bobcat. Works for both of us that way, so I hope Dean just passes himself on by. As much as the rain is needed, it just brings on more humidity...a double-edged sword really.

Yesterday evening the kids decided to cool off the way they used to before we had the pool, using the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath. Have you ever tried jumping on a wet trampoline? Man that's a workout! The mat gets so heavy.

So here they are having fun, though they still didn't stay out very long. Apparently it's even "too hot" to jump on a wet trampoline with the sprinkler going!

I love the shot of Little Man though. He is always asking Dad to 'cannonball' him. They both jump and then fall. If Little Man lands just right, he rockets back up to heights that sometimes scare me! He thinks it's great and just laughs hysterically! Drama Queen proceeded to do the front flips and toe touches. I got some great pics of those!
