So the processors called me about the calf. It dressed out at 630 lbs! Whoa... The lady said, "you all are going to have a nice bit of meat to take home", lol! She's not kidding! The ram dressed out at 45 lbs. That is typical for them. The family I bought the calf from wanted the hide to tan for a rug. Their son went to pick it up and said that it was heavier than he thought! It is a pretty hide though and I can't wait to see it finished.
The dogs are freaking out about the baby lamb being in and out of the house. We did move it back outside though; it's such a beautiful day out. If it gets too cold we'll bring it in again, but it's doing really well out there. Running around and playing with the other lamb. It's mother is still rejecting it, but is leaving it alone at this point instead of pushing it away. The lamb named Lily (by Tall Girl), is able to get up and down easily now even when knocked over and able to run after us when we go in there to feed it. I can see this one will become quite the pet, lol. We'll end up with three girls instead of just two...oh well. It's ok really.
